Sick Day 2: With a Vengeance
July 3, 2009
I tried waking up at 630am and just said no. I took my meds and I think that is the only thing that is keeping me going at this point. I had bread and jam with Jill for breakfast. I basically just relaxed this morning. One of the other sick people was playing with MS Paint putting people’s faces on animals. Lunch was at Two Nations and we got to order. I ordered the Ensalada de Alpaca which was a Thai chili sauce, alpaca meat, onions, and some peppers. It was really good but not very filling. After that we walked back to the hotel. I just sat around and relaxed. I started reading Banewreaker. There was some nonsense with people stealing hot water boiler pitchers and that was absolutely retarded. We cruised out to Don Esteban, it was chicken, rice, and purple cream covered vegetables. That place is going downhill and that makes me sad. A lot of people didn’t show due to illness. The inventory of illness has increased dramatically. After dinner we went to the Mega Mart. That is the biggest supermarket I’ve seen in Peru…it wasn’t really that big. The traffic in the supermarket resembles the traffic on the streets. Almost collisions and no semblance of order. This one couple cut in front of us and I muttered Spanish curses. We walked back using the zig zag. I decided I haven’t taken enough pictures so I snapped a few on the way back. When we got back, I headed to the film crews room and hung out. I’m avoiding my room at the moment due to how depressingly ill people are. Maybe it’s just me but I think it’s weird that this group of people get together and party in other people’s rooms. It’s like a clique in the corner drinking and doing there own thing but with other people just near them. Jill jokes that I can’t stand anyone, she’s probably right. It sounds like people are having a time in my room. I’m going to check it out, til next time.
